Its been a long May. For a while I almost thought there was a conspiracy theory in operation to keep me off the trails. But, finally the month ended, June came the weather improved and I managed to get out on the bike again. After a month of almost no riding at all going uphill was a touch painful but it felt good to be outside again.

After a couple of evenings playing around on my local trails we decided to do the Rinderweidhorn tour last Saturday. With 850m of climbing in one go at the start my month off the bike was making itself felt, but the views from the lookout point at Pfiffegg made it well worth the effort. After Pfiffegg the route is quite undulating and on a mixture of paved and unpaved road until the restaurant at Gueteregg where the single trail starts. Some sections of trail were a lot more fun then I had remembered them being when I last did this tour about three years ago. All in all it was a nice afternoons ride with about 1100m of height gain and 30km.

Finally descending. The descent to St. Meinrad and then on to Pfaffikon SZ.

On Sunday we decided to head to Flims as a friend of mine is preparing to do the Trail Fox there in two weeks time and he wanted to pre ride some of the trails. Flims is quiet well set up for biking with a few Freeride options as wall as quite a few nice tours and trail riding options. No  matter what you like to do on a bike you should find something to put a smile on your face there.
