Winter is in full swing and Walter is once again going to run a Saturday Ski Tour for us.
The Plan:
The location for the tour will be made available to participants on Friday evening before the tour by the mountain guide. Tour or Freeride? while the idea is that it will be somewhat tour-focused, if conditions on the day then a lift might be included to allow for more descent than ascent. The tour will take place regardless of weather conditions. The tour and location will be adapted to suit the prevailing conditions, but be run under the philosophy of no bad weather with the correct equipment.
The tour will be led by a local UAIGM-qualified Mountain Guide. (Walter Gubler)
Tour Level:
Saturday tours will not be too technically difficult, but will most likely have in the region of 1000m of ascent under your own power. Ascending 1000m with a pace of about 350m per hour is a prerequisite for participating in this tour. Max No of Participants:
The tour will run with 4 participants (max 8 participants)
Meeting Point:
The meeting point will be provided on the evening before the tour. Car pooling will be used to get to the start point as they are not often well served by public transport.
Cost:
150CHF
Guiding costs will need to be paid in advance to ensure the smooth running of the tour. Carpooling costs can be shared amongst those traveling.
Payment:
Payment details will be provided by email once you have registered for a place in the event. Your place is only confirmed when your event has been paid for in full.
What to bring:
- Full Ski Touring Equipment (Skis, Skins, Crampons, Poles, Transceiver, Shovel, Probe)
- Appropriate Clothing
- Snacks to eat on the tour
Important to know:
Tour participants will receive a WhatsApp message the evening before the tour with the full tour details. If you do not use WhatsApp please let us know in advance.
The tour will take place regardless of weather conditions. (If we have enough people registered.)
