After an amazing start with plenty of early season powder days winter has become a touch disappointing, at least in terms of snow. There have been surprisingly few powder dumps and long periods of warm weather since Christmas. Conditions in the mountains are still great for skiing/boarding on piste with many resorts having enough snow to see the season out. The good weather has actually led to record turnover in many resorts as people flocked to the mountains to enjoy the sunshine. Still it’s early March and there is still plenty of time for another dump of snow. The chances of another powder day this winter are not gone just yet.

Conditions have also been really great for mountain biking. Almost unbelievably good for January and February. Plans have already been made for the 2011 bike season and some events have already been posted on the facebook page. More events are going to be posted in the near future. Below is a provisional list of what to look forward to in the coming months.

Please note this list is provisional. The locations for each tour may be changed at the last minute if the weather forecast is unsuitable. All efforts will be made to change location rather than cancel a ride. Check out the facebook page and sign up for any of the rides that take your fancy.
