Its been a while since I’ve done any kind of an update here. We’ve been a bit busy lately with organising group rides, adding some trails to the website, exploring new trails and we’re already starting to plan ahead for the winter!!!

Face Book Group:
There is a slow and steady increase in the number of members in our facebook group. The group is itself becoming a small community of people who enjoy getting out and exploring the Swiss Alps on their bikes, skis or snowboards depending on what time of the year it is. If you are an expat in Switzerland and are looking to get in touch with like minded people why not sign up and post a message to the wall to see if there are any people in your area wanting to get out and enjoy the Swiss playground.

Group Rides:
We’ve had a run of very successful group rides in and around the Zurich area over the last 6 weeks or so. Each weeks ride was at a different location, and in a lot of instances we had different focuses to the ride. So far we’ve done a very flat XC style tour around Obersee, a trail orientated ride between Felsenegg and Buchenegg, a tough climb of Etzel, a technique training visit to the Zuriberg Pumptrack and a whole lot more. The rides have been averaging 10-12 participants of varying standards who all have one thing in common… A love of riding their bikes. Regardless of skill level or fitness we have done our best to make sure all participants are smiling at the end of the ride and so far it seems with at least a little success. If you want to join any of the rides look up the calendar on the website or click under events in the facebook group. The events section of the facebook group is the official sign up page for everything.

Website:
In the last month or so I’ve tried to get a bit more content on the website. Flims/Laax, Wallis, and Central, Switzerland have all had a few trails added. We’ve ridden a lot more and they will be put online as soon as I can get around to writing a brief description. Check out the website to see if there is a trail in there for your next ride.

Exploring:
We’ve been out riding as much as possible to get new rides to add to the site. We’ve ridden some amazing trails around the Lötschberg Sudrampe, Aletsch, Engelberg – Lungern, Monte Tamaro – Ponta Tresa, and Flims/Laax which will be added to the site (if they haven’t been already) in the near future.

Winter:
Plans are already under way for Swiss Alpine Adventure’s winter season. We’ve been in touch with some mountain guides to try to arrange an Avalanche Safety course for early December to prepare everyone who wants to go in search of powder for whatever the winter throws at us. If there is interest we will try to arrange a couple of coaching days with ski instructors and/or guides for intermediates/advanced skiers/snowboarders to improve their off piste skills and there is a small possibility that we might arrange one or two guided free ride days through the winter. All this will only happen if there is enough interest so if you want to see this happening then join the face book group and let us know what you want.

A perfect moment in the back country away from the crowds.

Disclaimer:
Even though Swiss Alpine Adventure shows up on Facebook as a company… It is NOT. We do not make any money, we do not sell a service, we are not qualified guides and we can not accept responsibility for anyone on any adventure that we organise. We simply provide a way for like minded people to meet each other to share in doing activities that they love doing. Please everyone accept responsibility for yourself, and keep an eye out for the well being of other group members so that we can keep providing expats in Switzerland with an introduction to the fun to be had here.

ANYONE PARTICIPATING IN ANY EVENT ORGANISED OR IN ANY WAY AFFILIATED TO SWISS ALPINE ADVENTURE DOES SO 100% AT THEIR OWN RISK. YOU ARE ONLY WELCOME TO COME AND PLAY UNDER THESE CONDITIONS. IF YOU ACCEPT THESE CONDITIONS THEN WE’D LOVE TO HAVE YOU ON ANY OF OUR EVENTS.
