Hi Everyone,

I think we can officially say that winter is here. We've had the first snowfalls down to lower altitudes and places in the mountains have more than 170% of the expected snow cover for this time of year. This provides us with perfect conditions to start our winter programme for 2021/22.

Upcoming Events

Advanced Avalanche Safety

Next weekend (11/12th December) we have our coaching weekend for the more experienced ski-tourers in the group to spend a weekend getting coached on their tour planning and avalanche safety from one of our regular mountain guides. If you are doing tours independently in the mountains over the winter this course would be perfect for you to improve your skills early in the season.

Beginner/Improver Avalanche Safety

The weekend of December 18/19th is our normal avalanche safety weekend with both introduction and more in-depth courses in Avalanche Safety. If you are new to winter sports and would like to learn the basics of Avalanche Safety including getting a better understanding of the risk, what to do in an emergency situation and how to use your equipment then check out our Level 1 Avalanche Safety Course.

If you already have some basic knowledge then our Level 2 course revise what is on the Level 1 course and give you some additional knowledge to start planning your own tours. These courses are definitely worth checking out early in the season to make sure you get your knowledge up to speed to enjoy a safe winter in the mountains.

Ski Skills

In the New Year we have our usual skills training weekend where you can improve your off-piste skiing skills under the watchful eyes of our guides and instructors as well as our off-piste weekends away to some lesser-known, but quite spectacular parts of Switzerland and our regular Saturday/Sunday Skitours with Walter.

For Beginners/Less experienced

For those of you with little or no off-piste experience but would like to get a taster of what it's like beyond the edge of the pistes our Introduction to off-piste skills weekend or our beginner ski tours could be perfect for you.

Our full calendar can be found on our website at:

Here are some highlights:

Ski Tours

Every weekend where we don't have another event planned we will be running one-day ski tours with our Mountain Guide, Walter. These tours will be at three different levels from beginner to advanced. Please read the descriptions carefully to ensure that you select the correct tour for you. Full details and the dates of these tours can be found on our events page.

Social

For those of you who are just looking to ski and get out in the mountains with others why not try to use our Forum for organising some impromptu ski days in the mountains or just to talk about conditions where you were skiing or are going skiing on any given weekend.

I wish everyone a fun, healthy, and safe winter in the mountains and hopefully, we will see you on some activities in the near future.

Kind Regards,

Dave
