It looks like the promised snow from January 8th has not hit many areas of German Speaking Switzerland. Andermatt seems to be the resort which got the most snow with between 5 and 25cm. Areas like Flims/Laax, Lenzerheide or Davos are reporting between 0 and 5cm new snow in the last 24 hours. The weather is expected to be vary variable with a lot of clouds and some snow for the weekend. The Avalanche Report is giving the Avalanche risk as “considerable” for much of the Swiss Alps except the very northern part of the main alpine ridge and the northern prealps. Not exactly an ideal weekend for skiing.
