Zugerberg (Vorder Geissboden)

eMTBs also welcome

The course will run with a minimum of 4 participants. It will be postponed if we do not have enough participants to run it on this date.

The aim of our intermediate course is to provide you with the techniques required to ride safely on moderately technical off-road terrain and will be run by a qualified Swiss Cycling & Bike-Pro mountain bike guide. Skills will be clearly explained and demonstrated before being practiced in a controlled environment (gravel car park or fire road). A large part of the course is aimed at getting you familiar and comfortable enough with your bike to ride on narrow trails with some small technical challenges such as roots, small rocks, and low steps.

There are no prerequisites for the intermediate course and only very minor off-road experience is necessary, but those attending should be aware that the aim of the course is to get you riding on narrow trails with some small technical features, as such it is advisable that you are at least comfortable riding your bike in non-technical terrain such as paved roads before signing up for this course.

Courses will be limited to a maximum of 8 participants and will include the following topics:

• Basic Position,
• Correct braking technique
• Getting on and off the bike in steep terrain
• Uphill/Downhill technique
• Cornering
• On the trail coaching

Safety is the highest priority for us at Swiss Alpine Adventure, however, mountain biking is a potentially dangerous sport. We can not guarantee total safety to anyone participating in our courses. There is always a chance of falling off your bike and while we do our best to minimise this the risk can not be totally eliminated, cuts, scratches, and bruises are something that can not be totally protected against. Each skill will be explained and demonstrated before students attempt them and exercises will aim to slowly build up skills in as safe a way as possible. Participants MUST wear a helmet at all times when on any Swiss Alpine Adventure Mountain Biking course and everyone is strongly recommended to wear at least full finger gloves for additional safety. The use of knee or elbow pads is not necessary but if people feel more comfortable wearing them on their bikes then feel free to do so.
